Pankaj and Nidhi for Wool Celebration!

Day before yesterday I received Pankaj and Nidhi’s Woolmark collection, which they had created for the campaign ‘Wool Celebration’. Their ‘Capsule Collection’ for the Wool Celebration is the outcome of their love for Merino wool. Their collection is inspired from the Baroque Art & Renaissance art. They have used Merino wool yarn to create stunning embellishments on their designs. I found the mix of vibrant colors with muted tones very fascinating and elegant. Pankaj and Nidhi are set to represent India at the final round of International Woolmark prize award in London. They have used true Indian craftsmanship with a global appeal for their collection, which they will be showcasing in London. I wish them all the luck for the Woolmark award and hope they win a slot at the Landon Fashion Week for themselves.

Wool Celebration is an initiative taken by the Woolmark company to educate the Indian consumers about the Merino wool. Visiting them last month at the Saket Mall brought back a lot of my old memories associated with this brand. As a child I had an extra sensitive skin and any synthetic material would cause rashes all over my body. So I remember my mom knitting beautiful sweaters using Woolmark wool for me in Winters.

I kept the styling for Pankaj & Nidhi’s collection absolutely minimal as the designs in themselves are so exquisite, I did not feel need of accessorizing them. The fuscia pink jacket cum dress with half open and half zipped detail makes it an apt choice for a semi formal party or even a wedding. The white and black full sleeves jacket can be worn during the winters for an evening party, it will surely keep you warm and cozy. The waist belt with the jacket really helped in defining the waistline and also added to its dimension. I truly loved their collection but it is something which I will not be able to afford, I just wish they had a more affordable collection for their fans.
