Origin of BeanieI recently stumbled upon an interesting fact that the term Beanie was coined in the early 20th century from a baseball slang used for head ‘Bean’. Back then, it was majorly worn by boys. But today these caps have become a part of women’s mainstream fashion. Beanie is also known as calot or dinky. It was originally a distinctive American cap, which has now become famous all over the world. These caps gained popularity when the cartoon series ‘Beanie and Cecil’ came out. From stars like Racheal Bilson to Miley Cyrus to Selena Gomez, all have been spotted flaunting this trend recently.
Where & How to Wear
Beanies are the first winter accessories I grab as the temperature drops. I feel extremely cold and these caps definitely help me in coping with the weather. This cozy knit, apart from keeping you warm, helps in highlighting an outfit. It can also be a good option if you are suffering from a bad hair day. The pompom on this cute fashion accessory really caught my eye. I chose a vibrant colored beanie with this outfit as I thought it would help me in topping off my look. Keeping my beanie in mind I threw in a chunky knit sweater, faux leather leggings and my new spiked boots. Boots are another must haves as a winter accessory and I could not have been more happy with mine as they are a perfect choice to compliment any and every outfit. You can also pair this cap with nice printed pants and a shirt for a semi-formal look. Add a blazer to the outfit to keep yourself warm in winters.
